Very Happy

LES SENEGALAIS DANS LA GUERRE D INDOCHINE - Page 2 Empty Information that I have collected on Black African Troops serving Indochina, may be of assistance to you.

Message  Dan Morris Mer 30 Juin - 17:58

Hi,
Good day. In all that I have seen I have never seen a report of the 5th RTS duty Indochina. Two possibilities for me connected to Units with the number Five. The GM5 and the 5th RIC. If you have information on Dates and places, you may be able to eliminate Units that do not match your information, leaving a smaller pool of possible Units to look into. If you wish information on either the GM5 or the 5th RIC, ask & I will send it to you. Hope this information finds you in good health, good luck with your search.
Regards, Dan.

African Infantry de Tirailleurs Sénégalais

The Indochina amendment of 11/11/51 modified a 1928 Law regarding overseas duty so that French conscripts could no longer be dispatched to Territories which were "the theater of active operations" without their consent. Upon the insistence of African politicians in the National Assembly, this same provision was extended to Africans at the same time.
