Recherche informations sur le 24e RTS
Je recherche des informations sur le 24e RTS et notamment sur mon oncle, le sergent Pierre Bardou, disparu au combat (présumé prisonnier) le 25/03/1953.

24 RMTS (24 Regiment de Marche de Tirailleurs Senegalais):
12/1/48, Battalion formed with trained volunteers & sent to Indochina.
12/27/48, Landed in Indochina.
1/1/49, Tonkin, I/24 RMTS & II/24 RMTS landed at Haiphong.
1/17/51, Tonkin, II/24 RMTS lost two Companies in the battle of Vinh Yen.
2/16/49, Tonkin, Regiment disbanded tactically to conserve cadre & Battalions operated as autonomous Battalions.
1 BM/24 RMTS:
1/5/48 Formed from trained Volunteers for service in E.O.
12/10/48, Sailed from Marseille for Indochina.
12/27/48, Battalion landed EO.
12/30/48, Tonkin, Landed in Haiphong. AO = Sub Sector Gia Lam. Later Hoa Binh.
2/16/49, Tonkin, operated as independent Battalion.
4/1/51, Tonkin, part of the De Lature Defense Line for the Red River Delta.
10/1/51, Tonkin, had Commando 20 attached
3/1/52, Tonkin, Commando 20 transferred to 32 BMTS
5/52, Tonkin, Battalion had shortage of cadre that influenced performance.
7/1/52, Tonkin, Commando 22 attached to I/24 RMTS
10/1/52, Tonkin, Commando 22 transferred to I/6 RTM
3/16/53, Tonkin, At Ha Dong had Commando 51 attached to Battalion
1/3/54, Tonkin, Commando 51 transferred to I/1 RTM
7/10/54, Tonkin, 1 DMT part of Group Mobile Light 2 near Ha Dong in Operation AUVERGNE.
9/30/54, Tonkin, Battalion disbanded.
10/1/54, moved to Annam, renamed I/24 RTS.
6/1/55, SVN, Battalion Disbanded by CEFEO.
Attachments: At one time or another Battalion had attached the 32, 33, 35, 37, 38, 39 , 315, 560, & 561 CLSM, plus the 262, 267, 309, 310, 312, & 504 CSM, and the 3, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 51 Commandos.

5/52, Tonkin, Battalion had shortage of cadre that influenced performance.
2/1/53, Tonkin, Commando 18 transferred to 71 CQG
5/19/53, Tonkin, Area of Operations = South of Hanoi.
12/31/53, Tonkin, Commando 35 transferred to 71 CQG.
6/54, Tonkin, Battalion moved close to Hanoi in Sub Sector Nui Deo.
7/10/54, Tonkin, 4 DMT, part of Mobile Reserve near Haiphong
9/30/54, Tonkin, Battalion disbanded.
10/1/54, Tonkin, moved to Annam, & renamed II/24 RTS.
