11/1/54, South Vietnam, Battalion renamed III/403 Infantry Regiment.
1/1/55, South Vietnam, III/403 IR renamed III/42 IR of ARVN 14 Division.

31st TDKQ Heavy Weapons Company, (DDTP 31):
1953, Tonkin, formed near Nam Dinh. Used twelve 81 mm Mortars and four 57 MM Recoilless Rifles.
7/54, sent to Central Vietnam.
