Bonjour,

De magnifiques insignes ! Riches en couleur et en symbolique.
Ils sentent bon le temps perdu où le soleil ne se couchait jamais sur notre empire colonial.

4th Battalion, Chad Marche Regiment,
10/19/45, newly formed Battalion sent to Indo China. – 10/7/46
3/17/47, left Indo China.

13th BMTS,
See: BM/13th RTS.

24th Regiment de Marche de Tirailleurs Senegalais,
12/1/48, sent to Indo China.
12/27/48, Landed in Indochina.
1/1/49, I/24 RMTS & II/ RMTS landed at Haiphong.
1/17/51, II/24th RMTS lost two Companies in the battle of Vinh Yen.
2/16/49, Regiment disbanded & Battalions operated independently.
I/24th RMTS:
1948 Formed from Volunteers for service in E.O.
12/30/48, Landed in Indochina.
2/16/49, operated as independent Battalion.
10/1/51, had Commando 20 attached
3/1/52, Commando 20 transfered to 32md BMTS
5/52, had shortage of cadre, influenced performance.
7/1/52, Commando 22 attached to I/24th RMTS
10/1/52, Commando 22 transfered to I/6th RTM
3/16/53, At Hadong had Commando 51 attached to Battalion
1/3/54, Commando 51 transfered to I/1st RTM
10/1/54, moved to Annam, renamed the I/24th RTS.

26th BMTS,
10/16/48, formed
4/16/49, Arrived Haiphong in Tonkin. AO = Tonkin.
7/1/51, had Commando 9 attached to Battalion.
5/52, had shortage of cadre, influenced performance.
9/1/52, Commando 9 transfered to I/6th RIC.
1952 thru 1954, part of GM 7 in Tonkin (this Battalion spent more time with the Mobile Groups than any other BMTS).
9/30/54, disbanded .
10/1/54, renamed I/22 RIC.


27th BMTS,
10/16/48, formed
3/29/49, arrived in Haiphong. AO = Red River Delta. Served in a GM in Tonkin.
9/30/54, disbanded.
10/1/54, renamed II/22 RIC.


28th BMTS,
11/16/48 formed.
4/23/49, Arrived in Saigon. Moved to Tonkin.
1950 LOC protection duty of Paul Doumer Bridge outside Haiphong.
2/52, assigned to GM 2.

29th BMTS,
7/25/49, landed in Tonkin, AO = Tonkin near Haiphong Sector Sud.
4/1/52, helped to create Commando 4.

1953, Commando 41 attached to Battalion
2/1/53, Commando transfered to 71st CQG.
9/30/54, disbanded.


104th Senegalese Battalion,
1/17/47,arrived in IndoChina.
2/1/48, disbanded to reinforce other units in IndoChina.
