Hi,

Some info on the Tabors that I have been working on for a while. If there are corrections to what is presented, please let me know.

Regards

Group of Morrocan Tabors E. O. (GMTEO),
1/1/50, formed at Lang Son for Operations on RC 4. Had 3rd, 8th, & 10th Tabors.
CO = Col. Le Page.
2/50, near Dong Khe on RC 4.
5/27/50, together with 3rd BCCP retakes Dong Khe, leaves 8th Tabor as garrison.
June 1950, 8th, & 10th Tabors replaced by 1st, & 11th Tabors.
10/50, fought RC 4 battle with 1st, 11th Tabors, BM/8th RTM, & 1st BEP.
1/21/51, disbanded after the RC 4 disaster. Renamed the GLTMEO.
1951 thru 1953, Tonkin, served as HQ at Lai Chau.
7/53 thru 8/54, Laos, served as HQ on the Plaine de Jars

1er Tabor, 6/13/50, IndoChina, Goums 58, 59, 60, GCAT (20e Goum replaced the 59e in May 1951)
June thru October 1950, Tonkin, together with 11th Tabor replaced the 8th & 10th Tabors. AO = RC 4. Security on the Chinese border.
10/50, RC 4 withdraw battles where suffered heavy losses opening a passage at Coc Xa following the 1st BEP attack. Survivors of RC 4 were four officers out of fifteen, twenty five NCO’s out of fifty four, three hundred troopers out of eight hundred & fifty six.
10/7/50, joined with Cao Bang garrison.
10/10/50, reached safety at Na Ham.
1951, reformed with replacements from North Africa.
Tonkin, operations near Hoa Binh.
2/52 thru 5/52, AO = Annam, near Hue & Tourane.
4/10/52, returned to North Africa
CO = Cdt Feaugas (POW) later Cdt Riez

2e Tabor, 11/16/52, IndoChina, Goums 21, 33, 66, GCAT 15
11/20/51, Tonkin, replaced the 17th Tabor.
12/53, Tonkin, Garrison of Lai chau.
12/6/53 thru 1/4/54, moved by air to DBP.
1/4/54, moved by air to Red River Delta.
October 1954, returned to North Africa after the end of Operations.
CO = Cdt Mirabeau later Cdt Borie

3e Tabor, 6/10/49, IndoChina, Goums 4, 36, 51, GCAT
1948, Tonkin, moved to Sontay to replace the 10th Tabor.
10/48, moved to RC 4 near That Khe.
1/1/50, Tonkin, part of GTMEO security duty on RC 4 between Dong Khe & Dinh Lap.
5/27/50, as part of GTMEO & with 3rd BCCP retakes Dong Khe, stays as Garrison.
9/20/50, airlift to Cao Bang to help with evacuation down the RC 4.
10/7/50, joined with relief force.
10/10/50, reached safety at Na Ham. Survivors of RC 4 were eight officers out of sixteen, ten NCO’s out of fifty, two hundred & ninety four troopers out of eight hundred & fifty.

10/10/51,Tonkin, operations in Highlands, reinforced the 17th Tabor at Ho Chin.
7/53 thru 5/54, AO = Tonkin Highlands & Laos.
6/6/54, returned to North Africa
CO = Cdt Marquez later Cne Azam then Cdt Gastine

8e Tabor,  12/31/48, IndoChina, Goums 78, 79, 80, GCAT
11/48, Tonkin, sent to RC 4 to disarm Chinese Troops.
1/49, replaced 25th BTA in SonTay as part of Operation ONDINE II.
1/1/50, Tonkin, part of GTMEO on security duty on RC 4 between Dong Khe & Dinh Lap.
5/27/50, as part of GTMEO & with 3rd BCCP retakes Dong Khe, stays as Garrison.
9/7/50, replaced as Dong Khe garrison by II/3rd REI.
June 1950, together with the 10th Tabor replaced on RC 4 by 1st & 11th Tabors
June 1950, left in Dong Khe as the garrison by the GTMEO.
9/7/50, replaced as Dong Khe garrison by II/3rd REI.

5/53 thru 8/53, Annam, near Tourane. Operations GRASSHOPPER & CAYMAN.
9/53 thru 3/54, AO = Tonkin Highlands & Laos.
10/31/53, Annam, Operation CAMARGUE.
11/15/53, Laos, near Thakhek
12/25/53, Laos, after destroying its vehicles is airlifted to Seno as part of GM 2.
April 1954, moved to Saigon.
4/8/54, sailed from Saigon to North Africa. CO = Cdt Commaret  

10e Tabor, 10/2/48, IndoChina, first Tabor in Indochina. Goums 84, 85, 86, GCAT.
10/48 thru 6/49, tonkin, security operations in Red River Delta.
11/27/48, Tonkin, reoccupies Vietri in Operation ONDINE I.
10/48 thru 6/49, AO = Tonkin, Red River Delta near Sontay, moved by air to Lai Cai.
11/48, moved by air to Hanoi, sent to RC 4 to disarm Chinese Troops.
2/15/49, Tonkin, Operation DIANE with III/3rd TRA, RACM, II/1st RCP.
4/29/49, Tonkin, Operation POMONE I with GLAP (1st BEP & II/1st RCP), BMI,% II/24th RTS.
5/3/50, Tonkin, Operatins on RC 4 near That Khe.
5/7/49, Tonkin, Operation POMONE with BMI, 8th Algerian Spahis, & GLAP (1st BEP & II/1st RCP).
1/1/50, Tonkin, part of GTMEO security duty on RC 4  between Dong Khe & Dinh Lap.
5/27/50, moved on foot from That Khewith GTMEO to retake Dong Khe with the 3rd BCCP.
June 1950, together with the 8th Tabor replaced on RC 4 by 1st & 11th Tabors
7/21/50, returned to North Africa
CO = Cdt Dugué MacCarthy.

10e Tabor,  4/30/54, IndoChina,   Goums 34, 40, 43, GCAT 80.
4/30/54, Tonkin.
November 1954,  returned to North Africa after end of Operations
CO = Cdt Coudry

11e Tabor,  8/4/50, IndoChina, Goums 3, 5, 8, GCAT
August thru September 1950, Tonkin,  together with 11th Tabor replaced the 8th & 10th Tabors. AO = RC 4. Security on the Chinese border.
10/50, withdraw battles on RC 4 the 11e Tabor suffered heavy losses and reached Na Kheo, with only 369 survivors out of 924 goumiers and French officers.
10/7/50, joined with Cao Bang garrison.
10/10/50, reached safety at Na Ham. Survivors of RC 4 were five officers out of fourteen, twenty NCO’s out of fifty, three hundred troopers & forty four out of eight hundred & sixty.
1951, reformed with replacements from North Africa.
1951, Tonkin, Battle of Vinh Yen with 17th Tabor & 6th BCCP as GM 2.
3/23/51, Tonkin, Battle of Mao Khe.
4/52 thru 4/53, Annam, near Hue.
7/9/52, returned to North Africa  CO = Cdt Delcros later Cdt Arbola then Cne Donot  


17e Tabor,  1/6/47, IndoChina, Goums 14, 18, 22, GCAT.
1/49 thru 6/49, Security operations in Red River Delta.
1951, Tonkin, replaced 3rd Tabor after RC 4 disaster.

Dear sir
My uncle was adjudant major of the 11eme Tabor in 1950
His name is cne jean Donot, later he had replaced cdt Delcros and cdt Arbola before leaving
I was very pleased to find all the detailed information of the tabord indochina
I have a very little information about this period as the time is fading
Some pictures and a copy of a 8 mm film that I have diged out from Epcad as family documents

The Dates you provided are very helpful to retrieve information
